In my last week’s letter, I mentioned the wonders you can do merely by noting things down.
Some big online businesses are created using simple Excel sheets. Do check it out.
I am personally a big fan of online businesses.
Not because I am a digital marketer but because it is almost hassle-free and easy to get started for any individual.
Ask about the challenges that any traditional business person has faced.
They are endless – storage, logistics, expensive rents, distribution network, lots of market connections, never-ending admin tasks, supporting hands and so on.
The initial investment is heavy to even test a business idea.
But in 2023, we all are sitting on the pile of internet tools and opportunities.
- Storage – No need to stack unless you have a big eCommerce store.
- Logistics (only applicable for eCommerce stores) – Hardly starts from INR 20 depending on what kind of goods you ship. Importantly, the delivery agent picks from your place.
- Rents – Not required. Work from home.
- Distribution network – Emails and social media. More options if you master these two.
- Market connections – You are just a DM away from literally everyone.
- Admin tasks – You don’t even need anything until your business grows.
- Supporting hands – Online tools are always cheaper and more efficient than hiring a human for some mundane tasks.
See? It’s so easy to get started. It’s definitely tough to get successful due to cut-throat competition but hey, how else are you going to test your ideas?
TODAY’S ACTION ITEM FOR YOU
You signed up to start a side project. Now try to find ways how you can make it a digital-first project.
As a full-time professional who is just getting started with side projects, it is important to make things easier so that you stay motivated and sustain yourself well.
If you feel your project cannot be taken online at all, let me know what you are planning to do and we can brainstorm on it.
Even if your project is completely online, reply to this email and let me know what exactly you are working on 🙂
WHAT I DID THIS WEEK
Got to see Ankur Warikoo in person. What a super energetic human being he is! I love such positive humans who share good vibes 🙂
BOOK I AM CURRENTLY READING
Currently reading a book called “Immediate Action” by Thibaut Meurisse. It’s about overcoming procrastination. It’s an actionable book just like my email course. 😉
AROUND THE WEB THIS WEEK
My friend Arnab created this tool called pomo.arnabghosh.me and I am totally in love with it. It’s based on the Pomodoro technique of time management. I am using it for focused work.
Of course, this is his side project and I am not at all asked to endorse his tool. I am just using it for a week and loving it so much.
Overall, this week was productive where my office was super productive right from Monday morning, recorded a video, and even published multiple LinkedIn posts.
Yup! Even I am surprised by the energy that I got this week.
How was your week and what did you work on?
