20% Efforts To Get Better Than 80% People

I have an uncle who is a retired bank officer.

He mostly spends his time in social work and delivering motivational talks to young students from backward sections of society.

As if this was not enough to impress me, I saw him using ChatGPT and creating presentations for his work 🤯

People of his generation are hesitant to even operate a smartphone properly and I see him comfortably operating a PC, ChatGPT, Google Slides, and Slideshare! 👌

High-tech mama!

Ever met those people who seem to know everything?

Yeah, those scholars do exist.

I’ve seen them in action, and let me tell you – they’re not superheroes.

They just have a knack for knowing about new stuff, regardless of whether they’ve done it before or not. Curiosity 💡

You can be such know-it-all person of your group as well.

WHAT >

Just get surface-level knowledge of whatever you feel you don’t know but you should! 🏄‍♀️

No need to get deeper unless you really find it interesting enough.

WHY >

These things often help

✅ You get to know the world beyond what you do and help you explore other interests

✅ You get to socialize easily and have deeper conversations with people

✅ You don’t need long-term commitments

HOW >

What if I tell you that you can know and learn every single thing by just spending 1 hour everyday?

▶️ Want to get into fitness? 1 hour of vigorous exercise 🏃‍♀️

▶️ Want to get better at a sport? 1 hour of playing that sport every day 🏊

▶️ Want to get better at social media content? 1 hour creating content + engaging with other content in your niche ✍️

▶️ Want to understand an absolutely new topic better? 1 hour of simply watching videos related to it or reading about it 📺

▶️ Want to get a client? 1 hour every day prospecting, filtering, reaching out to the relevant people who might become your clients 🎯

Of course, these are general examples but it should do the magic.

And voila! You’re better than 80% of the people on this planet who never tried it at all.

Well, the top 20% is difficult to beat as they are already experts.

But does that even matter now?

✍ TODAY’S ACTION ITEM >

What do you want to get better at?

Reply to this email.

Pick that up for the next 30 days, 1 hour per day.

By the end of this period, you will be spending 30 freaking hours on one thing!

[I sent you a dedicated letter about my story on the same topic on 1st December 2023. Search your inbox for email with subject line “I spent 12000+ hours in marketing 😈”]

To give you a fair comparison, 30 hours are equivalent to 1 week’s worth of productive work you do at your full-time role right now 🔥

✔ WHAT I DID THIS WEEK >

1️⃣ I am currently working on taking off these weekly letters to a website in the blog format.

2 reasons –

(1) I am restricting multiple traffic sources to my own content by sticking to emails

(2) It gets difficult to share my editions with anyone directly.

Reason why you might have got a survey email. Just a reminder to submit that survey form which I sent in my last email. It will mean the world to me

So I spent some time on this website. Nothing fancy. Pure raw with just my blogs. What do you think we should add more?

2️⃣ Went for midnight cycling on Saturday night. I love cycling late at night during summers.

Unknown groups to form new friends, cool breeze of the Arabian Sea, yellow lights on wide roads and 7 hours of cycling!

Indeed, Mumbai has very pleasant and different vibes at night 🌃

3️⃣ Then I completed the book “Diary of a Wimpy Kid (The Last Straw)” which is the 3rd edition of the series that I am reading.

The main focus of the plot is Greg’s family, and how his Dad wants little Greg to focus on sports while Mom wants more reading and writing. Hilarious as usual!

4️⃣ Finally, I ended this week watching a movie “House Arrest” which is absolutely entertaining and funny.

If you are someone who loves to spend most of the time in solitude without any interference from other humans, this movie will be super relatable to you (like it was for me – LOL).
