“Life-Changing AI Prompt” Did Nothing for Me

Social media right now is full of “AI experts” telling you how to 10x your life with a magical prompt or screenshot.

Beware, most of them are just riding the trends with no real value addition.

You’ll mostly find 2 kinds of AI gurus –

🥇 The Over-Engineer
They’ll post a huge screenshot with 20 integrations on Make or N8N, multiple GPT workflows, Notion integrations, Slack bots, and end it with “Meet my new AI agent!”
Okay… cool.
But is it working? What quality of output does it give?
Does it even solve a real problem?

🥈The AI Inflator
Their social post starts with something like – “Here’s a magical ChatGPT prompt that boosted my productivity by 10x!”
But the actual prompt? Something like:
“Act like a copywriter and write a caption.”
That’s it.
They take very basic stuff and frame it like it’s revolutionary.

I used to fall for this early on.
Downloaded prompt collections.
Tried fancy websites that provided copy-paste prompts.

Expected magic. Got garbage.

Now? I just look at those posts and cringe because I know better.

The truth? Prompting is a skill. And it only gets better with practice.

Here’s what actually works –

Get curious
Explore tools relevant to your work. Don’t just chase what’s trending. Knowing 20 tools is pointless if you can’t use even 3 well.

Practice daily
Try solving your own tiny problems using AI.
Automate that boring report. Rewrite that awful paragraph. Draft those 5 LinkedIn post ideas.
Make AI useful before you make it fancy.

Master the conversation
If you can clearly talk to AI, it’ll do more for you than any intern ever could.
Start small. Iterate. Be specific. Give examples. Guide it like a junior teammate.

There’s no secret course that’ll “make you good at AI.”
Get your hands dirty.

The best way to learn AI is not from gurus.
It’s from your own curiosity.
