We’ve all heard those tales of people hitting the jackpot with a single thing and becoming mega-successful overnight 🤩
But guess what?
Those stories are about as rare as a unicorn in the wild 🦄
I mean, seriously, can you name even one company that’s been at the top of its game for years with just one product? 1️⃣
The smartest companies out there, the ones that have been around for ages and continue to thrive, are the ones that keep building and diversifying their offerings.
They don’t put all their eggs in one basket but they keep hatching new baskets! 🥚
Let’s break it down with a few examples:
Apple:
🚀 Super successful
- iPhone
- iPod
- Mac
👎 Failed
- Apple Lisa
- FireWire
- Round Mouse
And dozens of other products
Google:
🚀 Super successful
- Search engine
- Chrome
- Gmail
👎 Failed
- Google Plus
- Google Glasses
- Google Talk
And dozens of other products
Amazon:
🚀 Super successful
- Amazon Store
- AWS
- Prime Subscriptions
👎 Failed
- Fire Phone
- Amazon TestDrive
- Amazon Local
And dozens of other products
The point is, even if a company strikes gold with one product, they don’t rest.
They keep innovating, diversifying, and expanding their horizons. It’s like a chef adding new dishes to the menu after creating a killer signature dish 👩🍳
Then I know literally 95% of people give up after their first venture fails 🥱

✔ WHAT I DID THIS WEEK
This week has been technically short for me as I am writing this letter on Tuesday. By the time you are reading this, I have reached my hometown for my engagement ceremony 💍
These days I am much distracted from my ideal schedule. No new books. No new projects. Yeah, that’s also a phase and there’s nothing wrong in that 🙂
Yeah, the week has been all about that.
Visited Dagdusheth Ganpati temple in Pune last weekend and I could see the preparations for Ganesh Chaturthi in full show 🌺
Got a pre-engagement party from our mutual friends. So sweet of them. I had no idea anything like that existed 🥳
🌐 AROUND THE WEB
On the same note as today’s letter, have you ever explored this website called Killed by .Tech? It literally lists around 449 products discontinued by Apple, Google, and Microsoft with all the details.
Literally a graveyard! ☠
How many of them have you used or even seen? Let me know 🙂
