Built a side project?
Now how to get some testers or early adopters from LinkedIn?
Let me share my super simple and organic method that brings in dozens of leads every month.
If you see my profile, I mostly talk about side projects and marketing.
Step 1: Offer some valuable resource in your post. It can be some guides, templates or videos. Tell people to connect you if they are interested in getting that resource.
Step 2: Reach out to everyone who reacts, comments or shares your post. It simply means they might be interested in your offering.
Send a personalized message thanking them for their interest and offer the promised value.
Most people stop here. WRONG.
Start Conversation & Find All Their Problems
This is the beginning to build meaningful relationships.
Ask them what problems they are facing and what more they would like to see.
Have meaningful conversations to understand their pain points and offer relevant solutions.
Provide additional resources and insights tailored to their specific needs.
This is why I reply to every single email and message that you send me.
I just try to provide you with a specific solution to your specific problem.
BTW – do you remember how you connected with me? 🙂
When I talk about side projects and marketing, I get all kinds of messages.
You might have never seen some of my offers and resources because they are simply tailored for different purposes –
- Those who are looking to enter marketing – I ask multiple questions and share relevant videos, emails and resources to help them build something because they are in exploration stage
- Those who already built side projects or a business but got stuck – I ask them to enroll for paid consultations
- Those who are looking to work with me – I simply note their profiles if I find them good enough.
Currently, I am building a playlist of all videos answering the questions that I frequently get asked.
Avoid sharing everything with everyone because it is simply not required for that person.
In short – you get what you ask me as well 😀
ACTION ITEMS
Step 0 – Optimize your profile well and keep publishing content with relevant solutions and case studies that your audience is facing
Step 1 – Work on creating easy resources that solve just 1 problem
Step 2 – Start a conversation with interested people
Step 3 – Continuously improve your posts, engagement tactics, and follow-up processes based on feedback and results.
By following these steps, you can systematically generate a steady stream of leads on LinkedIn without relying on paid advertisements.
What next? Up to you.
You can build more resources for your audience. Or you can launch a paid service or product.
Building relationships takes effort. But it’s worth it. Go ahead and give it a try!
Apply this strategy for at least six months to build a substantial following and see significant results.
RELATED RESOURCES
Snov is a tool that extracts email IDs from LinkedIn profiles – just in case you need email IDs to reach out.
Use it sparingly though. LinkedIn has been quite aggressive on blocking accounts if you overuse such tools.
WHAT I DID THIS WEEK
I am back from my hometown and my routine has been all messed up since then.
Irregular working hours, no significant movement on any ongoing project and even skipped most of my regular things.
It was energetic at office though. Working on some exciting things.
This is what I like about having multiple personalities.
Even if one aspect of life doesn’t go well, there’s another aspect that works out well.
Sometimes the office is great, sometimes it’s more fulfilling when I work on side projects while there are times when client work is more fruitful.
Aiming to get back on track this weekend 💪
