For the longest time, I was stuck in a task-driven mindset.
I believed that if I was working, I was doing my part.
But I forgot to track what happened after that.
I am still not too good at it!
But I’m learning.
“I posted on Instagram for 30 days straight”
So what?
“I got 3,000 views”
Cool!
“I studied for 18 hours a day.”
So what?
“I finished 10 key chapters”
Cool!
“I worked for 12 hours a day for my office”
So what?
“I worked on a project so efficiently that now my team saves 30 hours a month because of what I built.”
Cool!
“I exercise 2 hours every single day”
So what?
“I lost 10 kgs by exercising”
Cool!
See the difference?
Nobody cares what you do. In fact, even you won’t care if you realize that it doesn’t move the needle.
I realized that just doing tasks wasn’t enough.
The real question is: what impact are those tasks having?
A CEO might earn 10 Crores a year, but that’s because their strategies create 100 Crores in profit for the company. The value they bring is clear.
This mindset switch is powerful. It changes how we see and do everything.
ACTION ITEMS
I’m still learning, but I’m gradually learning to shift my focus to a result-driven mindset.
Here’s how:
Focus on value creation: Check what is the real outcome of the task and if it aligns with the larger goal
Prioritize by outcome: Do the high-impact tasks on your end and ensure everyone involved is doing it too
Set trackers to measure success: Anything that is measured, can be improved. Everything can be tracked – health, fiance, time, anything (ask me how!)
Efficiency over effort: It’s not about how long you work or how many tasks you completed, but what you achieve by doing that
In short, IMPACT
WHAT I DID THIS WEEK
Got some crazy responses from the last letter. So many replies sharing their own recipes! Thanks a lot – I am gonna try them all.
I tried something new this week – Mandala Art! Do you know about it?
It’s a form of art that relaxes your mind. Although I just did it for fun. I painted after almost 13 years!
I loved it! I plan to do this more frequently!
Also, I was talking to 2 different people at the same time in different chats. Both unknown but we were getting to know to each other slowly.
I suddenly realized both of them had work requirements for one another. One needed a service and another person needed a client. Perfect fit!
I just connected them and voila! It was a business. Amazing how co-incidence works!
Within the wedding shopping, I gifted some ornaments to mom – and the happiness and pride on her face! No camera can capture the emotions of a happy parent.
Had a consultation call and published 1 post on socials. I was slow on content this week as I spent most of my time painting and reading.
