Our office started a fitness challenge a few days back and I started taking long walks during week-offs at my gym.

I usually take rest but now I started walking to maintain my streak – but without any earphones.
Pure walk with my thoughts.
For years, I used to listen to podcasts or some music thinking that I was being productive by using my time for 2 different things.
I was wrong.
It’s pure meditation.
It unlocks thousands of ideas.
Here’s how I get best of my ideas –
Long walks
Long solo drives
Long solo train or bus rides
Have you ever taken a ticket for yourself, got a window seat and kept staring outside without earphones?
Not just traveling, I get too many ideas even while doing my everyday household chores.
Cleaning my house
Cooking my dinner
Washing utensils
This is why I love dusting my home by myself.
Cleanliness is proven to have a direct relation with mental wellbeing.
I understand that not everyone can travel frequently or needs to manage household chores.
But ideas just come when you are alone and you’re not looking for them.
Being on toilet pot
Taking cold shower
Scribbling your thoughts on paper
TODAY’S ACTION ITEM
At least for some time of the day, try being away from devices that keep you busy.
And do nothing.
[I explained it here: Do nothing. Get Bored]
WHAT I DID THIS WEEK
Actually, too many things happened this week.
I met a student-cum-friend. Just a networking meetup but turned out to be a good productive meet. He shared his stories and I shared my experiences.
After 4 days I got food poisoning, not sure why. I barely get sick in a year so yeah, rested a lot this week. I am fine now.
This week I took my pre-wedding tasks seriously. Started checking off some stuff. Currently traveling for the same.
Office and side projects were sidelined this week. Honestly, I just didn’t feel to work due to weakness and long weekend vibes.
Do you have any ongoing plans for this long weekend?
I watched Maharaja and it’s such an epic movie. Watched something like this after such a long time. Ultimate climax! Much watch!
